My Life as a Tree

We play lots of songs when we drive, and it is fun to sing along. One of my favorite songs goes like this:

When I grow up I want to be a tree,
I want to make my home with the birds and the bees,
And the squirrels, they can count on me,
When I grow up to be a tree...

In the summer when I was 3, I got a chance. It was in a play called Snow White.

That summer we lived with Grammy in Ocean Grove, a little town on the beach in New Jersey. The kids in town get together and put on a play in the Great Auditorium. We all practice a lot, and when we do it on stage, the whole town comes to see !!!

The 3-year-olds could be one of the Furry Forest Animals that finds Snow White, or a Frightening Tree that growls at her when she runs through the woods. I decided it would be fun to be a Frightening Tree. As a Tree, you stand tall as part of the Woods. When the Huntsman tells Snow White to run for her life, all the Trees wave their arms and pretend to scratch and frighten her as she runs back and forth, I got to make mean faces and growl at her and grab with my fingers.

It's fun to get in costumes and be up on the big stage. Lots of my relatives came to watch. At the end, dad gave me a bunch of flowers in some tree branches. And afterward we all got ice cream.
